Sai Akash is passionate about playing cricket with big dreams and aims to represent his country, India. His interest in cricket has helped this extremely talented young man from Chennai reach great heights at a very young age. His cricketing career started in 2012, and with the focus he demonstrated, he joined the Indian team in 2018, performing well and winning many matches as an all-rounder. This signifies bigger and better things to come in the future.
After that famous victory, he joined the senior team. The right-handed batsman at the opening showed tremendous maturity, taking advantage of the opportunities and showcasing his sense of belonging. He batted with great freedom and enthusiasm. Calm and brave, Sai Akash's qualities gave his teammates the courage and strength to excel. He scored his first half-century against Sri Lanka in Delhi in November 2018 and, in November 2021, became the only player from Tamil Nadu to score his first century in the IPL for the Deaf in Madhya Pradesh.
Sai Akash has played in various domestic level matches, including the Tamil Nadu Deaf Cricket Team (State Level), National Zonal Level (South Zone - T20, ODI), Deaf Premier League (2021 – 2023), TNCA (Tamilnadu Cricket Association – Division Level), Tamilnadu District Level Leagues, Tamilnadu Deaf Premier League – 2022, College zonal level leagues, and Open District T20 cricket leagues.
Internationally, he has played in the DEAF ICC T20 World Cup (India, 2018), DICC T20 Champions Trophy (UAE, 2022), and IDCA Tri-Nation ODI for the Deaf (2023). He scored his first century in the 2022 national level cricket tournament held in Agra. In October 2022, during the championship trophy tournament in Sharjah, he scored 36 runs in the Qualifier 1 main event, leading to victory in the final. In 2023, he led the Deaf Premier League match held in Kolkata, displaying outstanding action and determination.
He had the honor of participating in the DICC T20 World Cup for the Deaf held in Sharjah, UAE, in 2024, bringing home the glory as a double cup-winning captain in 2023.
