Pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Kashmir University. Umar Ashraf Beigh is an Indian cricketer, born in Baramulla, North Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir, India. Umar has been representing his state since his teenage years, where he was playing at the Under-14 level. Playing a role of an all-rounder in the team, he is a right-hand batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler. He is the only cricketer to represent Jammu & Kashmir in International Cricket from India. His great interest in the game of cricket helped this extremely talented young man from Baramulla reach great heights at a very young age. In May 2022 he was the only player from J&K.Scored runs in his first series in the DPL for the Deaf in Delhi. Starting from an early age Umar never looked back and played for the state as well as his country & has bagged lots of awards. Umar received the J&K State Sportspersons Awarded 2019. • International T20 Pakistan v/s India Deaf Cricket played team in 2014 at Punjabi, India • Part of the Deaf-ICC ODI Champions Trophy played team in Dubai 2016 • Part of the ODI Deaf Asia Cup winning team in 2017 at Hyderabad, India • Won 2 times “Man of the Match” awards • Won 2 times “Man of the Series” awards
